PacNW U.S. Soccer Development Academy Program
3 Pac Teams To Compete in US Soccer Development Academy 2016-2017 Season
Since 2007, the U.S. Soccer Development Academy has offered a comprehensive program that provides education, resources and support to impact club environments with the goal of developing elite players. The USSDA is the highest level of youth soccer competition in the United States, and there are currently only two other USSDA programs in the state of Washington. The Development Academy philosophy is based on increased training, less total games, and more meaningful games using international rules of competition. It connects National Team coaches directly with the Academy clubs to develop and identify players and coaches for involvement in the youth national team system.
PacNW Soccer Club joins an exclusive group of USSDA clubs that will train individual players at a critical age for skill development. "U.S. Soccer Development Academy Clubs have made a tremendous commitment to player development in the past 9 years and will serve as the example for clubs and leagues throughout the country to provide the best possible environment for young players," said U.S. Soccer Development Academy Director Jared Micklos.
“We are always looking to take our club to the ‘next level,’ and joining the Development Academy is a big step forward,” said John Wilson, president of PacNW Soccer Club. “Our selection to the USSDA validates the philosophy and direction our club is heading in, and we are excited to have our players compete at the highest level.”
For the 2017-18 season, the PacNW Development Academy teams will be comprised of boys players from the U12 - U14
