PacNW Soccer Club is dedicated to keeping players, families, and coaches safe while COVID-19 is still prevalent. The health and safety of its members and affiliates is its top priority. PacNW is following return to play guidelines recommended by Washington Youth Soccer. PacNW is committed to preventing the spread of the COVID-19 so we can all safely return to practices and games asks that players and parents do their part as well.
If your player or anyone in your household has been sick, notify the club immediately. Keep your player home and report to the PacNW Confidential online symptom reporting for clearance to return to practice. If your player has been in direct contact with a person who is sick follow CDC guidance here.
WYS recommends the following actions in general and for clubs, coaches, parents and players:
No parent/guardian/caregiver or player that is sick or has signs or symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 should attend.
Wear facial coverings as required per current local guidelines
Ensure athletes are healthy.

Wear a face mask as required per current phase guidelines.
Ensure the health and safety of your players. Send them home if they act or discuss feeling ill.
Clustering of players should be avoided. There should be no gathering and socializing before or after the training/game. Coaches should not assemble their teams closely together for instruction; For games – make sure that your team has left the field within 5 minutes of the game ending.
No handshakes or fist bumps during or after trainings/games.
Ensure all athletes have their individual equipment (pinnie, ball, water bottles, bag, etc.) and prohibit them from sharing anything. Equipment placement should be spaced at least 6 feet apart where possible.
All training must be outdoors.
Use hand sanitizer before and after games, trainings, and handling of equipment.
The use of shared scrimmage vests/pinnies is not recommended. However if a player forgets their pinnie the coach may lend them a fresh washed pinnie for the practice. Pinnies must be washed between users.
Increase your communication with parents, they need to know what you are doing as a coach and club to maintain their safety.
Have fun, stay positive – players and parents are looking to you to stay calm, supportive, and caring during this time.
Have an effective communication plan in place, identify strategies for working with public health to notify adult leaders, youth, and their families if the organization learns a participant or adult leader has developed COVID-19 and may have been infectious to others while at a youth activity, while maintaining confidentiality.
Small group sessions should maintain the same group of players when required per the current phase guidelines. This helps with contact tracing and limits exposure.
Have a written action plan in place, in case of a positive test.
Distribute your written action plan to administrators, coaches, managers, and parents, electronically or otherwise.
In your action plan include both a communication chain for team personnel, including volunteers and managers, as well as triggers for executing the action plan.
