RECREATIONAL SOCCER

GREATER RENTON/TUKWILA

The Southlake Recreational program serves youth in the Greater Renton and Tukwila area and is meant for youth that want to learn the game of soccer, but with more emphasis placed on playing with friends and having fun. It’s designed to be a low-pressure environment where everyone can enjoy the game, make lasting friendships, and develop a love for the sport.

MOD
SOCCER

Southlake Mod (Modified) Soccer is the branch of Greater Renton Tukwila Youth Soccer Association (GRTYSA) which provides recreational soccer for ages U5–U9. Southlake Mod strives to start a player’s soccer development with a focus on developing basic individual skills in a fun and supporting environment.

Calendar

  • The season starts in Early September, after Labor Day

  • All matches played on Saturdays

  • 10 week season

  • U9 Teams will play games in a regional league against teams in neighboring associations. Home games will be played on grass fields at Ron Regis Park.

  • U5–U8 Games will be played on fields in the greater Renton area, generally grass fields at Honeydew Elementary School.

  • Practice dates and times are determined by the coaches and will start in mid-late August.

  • Early Registration closes on July 31, 2022.

(U5–U9)

RECREATIONAL SOCCER

(U10–U19)

Southlake starts forming recreational teams at U10, and has teams at all age groups up to U19. All youth that register get to play until team rosters are full. Returning players will be assigned to the team that they played on in the prior season, provided they register before the early registration deadline. Teams can start scheduling practices with Southlake during the summer at local turf or grass fields such as Hazen HS, Foster HS, Maywood MS, Starfire, McKnight MS, Ron Regis Park, Honeydew Elementary, among others. Select teams have priority at turf fields. All Southlake recreational teams play in the South Sound United League (SSUL) for both fall and spring seasons.

  • August: Southlake 6-A-Side tournament

  • July–August: Summer tournament (optional)

  • September–November: Fall SSUL season

  • October–December: WYS Recreational Cup tournament (optional)

  • April–June: Spring SSUL season
